In Memory of K8KDC/SK
Kenneth D. (Ken) Cregger (K8KDC), our very first Club President and father of current President Matt Cregger (K8VYD), passed away on July 7, 2022. Ken was the inspiration and elmer for many hams, including the majority that comprise the Charter Members of the Coal Country Amateur Radio Club. He will forever be missed.
In Memory of W8NAM/SK
Montgomery Elmo (Tony) Doss (W8NAM) – Tony was a long time amateur radio operator in Boone County, an unbelievable source of information for all things radio. An avid operator, Tony had what was described to be “…the best mobile station ever heard on HF.” Tony became a /SK on July 13, 2025. We will always miss his wit and insight.
In Memory of K8BEW/SK
Bruce E. White (K8BEW) – After a long bout with diabetes, including kidney dialysis, we lost our former member and friend, Bruce White. Bruce was a former paramedic in Boone County, and a former member of the Danville Volunteer Fire Department as well as a very active ham radio operator once-upon-a-time. Bruce had a lot of great stories that he was always willing to share. Bruce became a /SK on 3/25/2026. He will be missed.
